NHK SPRING (THAILAND) constantly strives to be a parts manufacturer which responds every customer's need. Our Seat & Interior Division regularly conducts its own market research. It is quite rare for car parts manufacturers to conduct their own market research. In general, they simply await their customer's orders.
We also conduct a Benchmark by analyzing the structure, materials and durability of various seats to develop better products. We are willing to spend time and energy on these activities in order to develop new business opportunities. These valuable and unique activities are appreciated among car manufacturers in Thailand.
Highly advanced computer systems are used to create new designs and strategically test products. Consequently, customers can assure that our products are up to international standards.
Quality is the first priority of our products. We set up product quality assurance system starting from raw materials receiving process until finished products are delivered to our customers including after-sales warranty to ensure that NHK Spring's products meet global quality standards.
In addition, "Culture of Quality" is what we have always adhered to, which consists of 5 principles:
First : Customers are the first priority.
Second : Provide maximum satisfaction to customers.
Third : Next process is customer. (Inside Customer)
Fourth : Since next process is customer, all employees will not send
non-quality products to the next process. That means
“Must work properly with quality in every process.”
Fifth : Product quality must be continuously developed and improved
This culture of quality ensures that customers will receive good quality products from NHK Spring.
NHK SPRING (THAILAND) aims to be a parts manufacturer which can quickly respond to all of our customers' needs. Therefore, we consider working from the beginning to the end of production and testing, or the complete production process, as very important.
In 1980, we set up a Design and Development Department at the Seat & Interior Division and have sent our Thai engineers to learn higher level design skills in Japan. Now, the entire production process from design and development to production and testing are carried out in this division.
Our Precision Spring Division is also involved in the complete production process. "Kanagata" is a special die for HDD covers which was difficult to produce in Thailand. We stepped up to the challenge and sent our engineers to be trained in Japan. As a result, we have been designing and producing some of our dies since 1999.
In addition, we play an important role in the worldwide business tactics of NHK SPRING group. Our Suspension Spring Division set up the Design and Laboratory section in 2003. Here, we have a 24 hour network to link us with NHK SPRING in Japan and other group companies in the USA. We can share technical data on suspension products used in car models destined for the world market.
By developing this complete production process within the company, we strive to serve more of our customers with satisfaction.
Safety is the most important issue for us. It does not only reassure customers, but also reveals that we are concerned for the safety of all our employees. We have strengthened the safety awareness of our employees in order to ensure complete safety. Our new operators have to be educated and trained in safety principles. Then operators emphasize their safety awareness every morning at their meetings before work.
All manufacturing areas are also checked by the safety patrol. This patrol is supervised by safety officers and the Safety & Environment committee which is comprised of top management members. They meticulously check every safety detail in each division and require changes to improve the condition.
Another safety, we also organize activities to promote employees' awareness and work safely, which is Safety, Health, Environment and Energy Saving Month Campaign and traffic safety campaign, which is held annually.
To concern the environment is what NHK SPRING (THAILAND) has been striving. Besides receiving the certification of ISO 14001 for the environmental standards of our manufacturing plants, we are also working for several environmental projects in the company.
We have a responsibility to the surroundings where we work. For example, the waste water from our production process is not emitted outside as a water treatment system is used at our Banpho plant. The water treatment system cleans the dirty water, which will be reused for watering plants and for the restrooms at the plant. We also made a vegetable field in Banpho plant where the water is reused for. The vegetable and herbs which have been growing in the plant field are served in the canteen.
Besides, the Suspension Spring Division reduces the use of gloves in production work. We wash gloves and reuse them at least two times for the purpose of reducing costs and garbage. We have also a training program to learn about the environmental care at the training center.
In Thailand, "5S" (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke) is generally well-known, especially in governmental organizations. Originally, the 5S comes from 5 Japanese words. "Seiri" is to eliminate unnecessary items from a work place. "Seiton" is to store office equipment properly for their efficient and safe usage. "Seiso" is to keep the workplace and office equipment clean. "Seiketsu" is to regulate above 3S to maintain a neat and orderly working environment. "Shitsuke" is to habitually practice all 4S and do improvements.
"5S" is a basic concept for making a work place neat and orderly in order to gain safe and tidy working conditions, leading to better productivity and more efficient work. In addition, neat and orderly working conditions make a good atmosphere which brings pleasure and high morale to employees.
Actually, NHK SPRING (THAILAND) is a pioneer of the 5S in Thailand. Over 40 years ago, we introduced the first 2S in the company, and later published the first "3S Handbook" in Thai language in 1984. Now, the 5S has become our working policy as it results in, not only a neat and orderly workplace, but also efficient working style.
Therefore, our new employees have to be lectured and trained on the 5S theory before they start working. Since all management uses the 5S as a base, employees need to understand and apply this concept to their work properly on every day.
