In 1997-1998, Asian big financial crisis from Baht floating affected the number of car production which was deceased that remained 140,000 cars in 1998, while IT business was recovering rapidly and HDD business was growing up. Thai government fully liberalized the vehicles industry to recover economic in 2000 in the word "Detroit of Asia" and Free Trade Agreement in ASEAN (AFTA) leaded to export growing continuously.
